HIT HERE TO DONATE TO THE
HAITI EARTHQUAKE RELIEF FUND
Here are some firsthand accounts provided to us from the Missionary Ventures Field Coordinators in Haiti as they went through the earthquakes on Tuesday night January 13:
“The earth is like a boat to us with its trembling. It’s going to be a very long night…I hope. Now we find out where our trust level is. This all came out of nowhere. Thank you for your prayers. The Lord is the only thing not shaking right now.
“This is scary. Eyes off the quake and on to Jesus.”
“Phones are down. Streets filled with wounded, screaming, confused people. We are trying to stay away from anything that can fall on us.”
“To show you how bad it is, for those of you who have stayed at the hotel in Petit Goave the church across the street is completely reduced to rubble. The whole area looks like a war zone.
“I keep hoping to wake up and find this was all a very bad dream, but it’s beginning to seem like it’s real. Phone lines are mostly down still so we are unable to communicate even within Haiti. And with not electricity the radio stations are all out.
“We are still alive at this point. We spent the night under the stars up in the hills. Didn’t sleep too well. The streets are completely packed with people wandering around. The damage here in Petit Goave is massive. The Happy House is still standing for the moment but another house close to us collapsed."
“We just received news that Pastor Freere’s Church has totally collapsed.” I am amazed how drastically things can turn on a dime. Christians here are reaching out to one another.
“My area in the North is not hurt in terms of structural damage. There will be long-term problems because Haiti is run from the Capital. All service food, propane, and even water to the rest of Haiti is now dead in the water and will be for some time. So there will be intense needs in the coming months for food, medicine especially.
Please be assured that 100%
of your gift will be sent to HAITI
to help Earthquake victims.

Dear Friends,
My heart breaks as I write this letter to you. I've been looking through pictures of the Earthquake Zone in Haiti and I keep going back in my mind to the time I walked the streets of Pisco, Peru two weeks after the 8.0 Quake in August of 2007. Two weeks after the quake many people were still dazed and appeared hopeless in many ways, until help started to arrive in greater measures.
Today I feel compelled to do something to help! Like you I can't get there right now but there are those on the field who can help! Initially they help by ministering to the people, helping them find missing loved ones, helping them make a temporary shelter with a place to sleep etc. But if we put the resources in their hands they can help in other ways as soon as the supplies can get to them. This is a crucial time to get the resources headed their way.
We are in the process of raising funds to help with the HAITI EARTHQUAKE RELIEF. After being in the middle of the damage caused by the earthquake in Pisco, Peru, two and a half years ago, we are compelled as a ministry to lend a hand in Haiti. This is the same kind of devastation but on a much greater scale because of the size of the city! Let's reach out to these broken hearted people with our gifts and resources. Let's all do something!
There is nothing worse for a missionary than to look into the eyes of those in need during a tragedy and have no resources to help them in practical ways. Right now we need to pray and ask for God's mercy for the people untilHaitiEarthquake3 supplies can be shipped in.
Would you consider helping us to help them? Since we don't have any field missionaries in Haiti, we will be sending our support to a few missionaries on the field that we know are very sincere, honest and trustworthy servants of God.
We are starting by sending any support we recieve to Missionary Ventures, a mission organization I worked with for many years. Missionary Ventures is preparing to send help as they have two missionaries on the field right now. One of the missionaries, Ed Lockett is a friend of mine and has been there for many years. He is a compassionate servant of the Lord.
